MY STORY

TABITHA MUSE CARRANZA, MS, LPC, CFRC

A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Tabitha Carranza holds a Master's degree in Counselor Education. In her Lafayette, Louisiana based practice, Carranza Counseling, she provides counseling to children, adolescents, and women using an eclectic approach combining techniques and ideas from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Relaxation Techniques and Conflict Resolution.

Tabitha is a Licensed Professional Counselor and her passion in life is working with children and their families. It is her joy to help children through difficult times at home or at school - divorce, grief/loss, bullying, poor academic performance, peer issues, anger management, self-esteem, anxiety, coping skills/adjusting to new situations, ADHD. She has worked in the school system as a teacher and school counselor for almost 10 years and this experience has allowed her to see first-hand the struggles many children face on a daily basis and how this can affect their academic performance as well as their friendships and home life.

As a mother of four and a Licensed Child Custody and Visitation Mediator, Tabitha realizes the importance of creating stability for children in the midst of change. It is her passion to help children, along with their families, develop the coping skills needed to make it through the many changes of life.

Tabitha is a member of LCA, ASCA, LPSCA, and Chi-Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society.
